The greatest equaliser humanity has ever known is not wealth or power — it is the relentless advance of science, shared openly with the world

Professor of Data and Network Science at the Department of Computer Science, University of Exeter, working at the intersection of complex systems, network science and computational modelling to tackle some of society's most pressing challenges. My research is driven by a simple conviction: that science, when applied thoughtfully, can reduce inequalities, improve accessibility and build a fairer world for everyone. Beyond research, I am deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists. Every person we bring into science multiplies the impact we can have on the world, and that is a contribution that compounds far beyond what any one of us can achieve alone.
